In Context—Another Peek at Pandemic Life

April 12, 2021
Sketch in an approx. 9 x 11 inch Nostalgie sketchbook. Brush pen and watercolor, and phone conversation doodle.

Pandemic life can’t help but pop up in your journal if you’re working from home.

I’ve been sorting my images, all in little folders ready for blog posts. I have had some, like this one from 2020 set to go—but I don’t remember what the topic was to be.

Last week (2021) I  cooked a different variety of beans in the Instant Pot, and thought I’d better post this before I have too many sketches of beans popping up in one week. I get my beans from Rancho Gordo. It really does make a difference in flavor.

Oh, I remember what I was going to write about this page spread—watch Chris Cuomo on CNN sometime. He doesn’t move. He sits immobile as you draw your lines, and lay in your washes. The entire time he interviewed Deepak Chopra and I sketched, his movement was  minimal. It was like sitting in a airport or train station and sketching someone a couple benches away.

Try it for yourself.
