Yes another wizard; this is one of my favorites.
I’ve been having tons of fun painting wizards in-between the demands of downsizing.

The day I painted this I was discussing some color choices with my Patreon subscribers and then later ended up sitting down and sketching this portrait with the color choices we’d been discussing. That seems to be happening more and more.
The next month I started talking about a certain secondary color triad and now “suddenly” I’ve got eight paintings using that triad. (Some of those paintings will make their way on to this blog; and I probably will use that triad a lot more going forward.)
It’s sort of like the brownie recipe testing I’ve been doing the past two weeks—but that’s a tale for another day.
The point is, I get an idea in my head and I think if one example is good aren’t 5 or more? And “If one works, well aren’t 10 better?” And “Won’t I learn more that way?”
And so it goes.
But I do enjoy seeing the rivers, streams, and oxbows of palette use that have been mapped through the pages of my journals.
Also it’s pretty obvious I love hair, and beards, and light.
