I don’t draw attention to many upcoming shows, typically I just go to a show and then maybe write about it—like when I go to a show at Mia.
But Jack Unruh is one of my all time favorite artists. His use of pen and watercolor is stunning and quirky at the same time. He was a prolific illustrator. Many have tried to imitate him, but they never even come close to understanding the power with which he put line, color, and composition together!
I talk about his work to all my students!
He’s the reason I subscribed to a variety of print magazines when he was working—just to see his work.
So if you are in Dallas, TX, or can get yourself there between December 3, 2022 and February 26, 2023 click on the image in this post and read the details and take action.
You NEED to see the work of this artist if you have ever picked up a pen, ever used a brush, ever thought nature art was your thing.
I wish I were able to travel right now and see all this myself. But maybe you are nearby Dallas and can see it for yourself.
So just go already.
Wow! How phenomenal. How inspiring. I regret he’s no longer alive and creating. Thank you, Roz, for sharing. I forwarded this blog to my sister who lives in Dallas, and she plans to go when it opens.
I’m so glad your sister is going to get to see the exhibit. I hope you’ll drop me a line and let me know any details she sends along. (I don’t know how large it will be for instance…)
Thanks for letting me know.
